The Miami Dolphins are working to determine which veteran players they might need to move on from as they prepare to face significant salary cap challenges. One of the most difficult players to trade at the moment is Jalen Ramsey, largely because teams are hesitant to take on his sizable contract.
“But a lot of these teams are spooked by the money because of the $24 million guaranteed. The Rams are sort of waiting it out. It’s really interesting. I do think it’ll get done, I just don’t know what it’s going to look like financially. But I know he’s supposed to get traded in somewhat short order, so I think in the next week or two I could see it coming together,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said.
Another possible move involves Tyreek Hill, who is currently on a $90 million contract. He’s been the subject of trade speculation, but based on his recent comments, he appears to be locked in for a major season.
“Every day I’m trying to prove myself as one of those guys this team can depend on in crucial moments. . . . It was tough. Emotions were high then. At the end of the day, I’m just looking to move forward from that. Hoping that I can prove myself and prove to my teammates that I’m still one of those ones,” Hill said.
One potential landing spot for Hill could be the Atlanta Falcons.
“Michael Penix has the potential to transform the Falcons into a top-ten offense. But he may need another weapon to get there, and Hill would help free up more space for Kyle Pitts, plus Drake London. He’s basically like a supercharged version of Darnell Mooney,” Yahoo Sports’ Andrew Buller-Russ wrote.
