On the morning of July 18, 2024, Gulf Shores Police and Fire Rescue responded to a two-vehicle crash on Gulf Shores Parkway, reported at 10:42 a.m.
The accident occurred in the 3700 block of Gulf Shores Parkway when a 2016 Lincoln Navigator, moving north, veered off the road and struck a light pole in the median. After hitting the pole, the SUV continued its northward path and collided with a boat and trailer being hauled by a 2018 Chevy Silverado. At the time of impact, the truck was stationary in the left turn lane on Gulf Shores Parkway, near Cypress Bend Drive.
The collision’s force was so strong that it dislodged the boat from its trailer, causing it to slide into the southbound lanes of Gulf Shores Parkway, creating further traffic disruption.
Emergency personnel pronounced the Lincoln Navigator’s driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Chevy Silverado’s driver reported no injuries. The incident is under investigation by local authorities.
