June 15, 2025 – London, UK
In a deeply emotional and historic revelation, Lisa Wetton, wife of the late progressive rock legend John Wetton, has confirmed the discovery of a hard drive containing a treasure trove of previously unreleased music recorded by the former King Crimson and Asia frontman. The recordings, believed to have been made during the last decade of John Wetton’s life, are now being curated for a posthumous studio album.
A Hidden Legacy Unearthed
The announcement was made earlier today via an official statement released by the John Wetton Estate, sending waves of excitement through the global prog rock community. According to Lisa Wetton, the hard drive was found among John’s personal belongings, carefully archived but forgotten — until now.
“I knew John had been recording privately during his quietest moments, especially in his final years,” said Lisa. “But I had no idea how much material there was — and how personal and musically rich it all is.”
The hard drive reportedly contains demos, full studio takes, lyrical drafts, and unpublished compositions, some of which date back to his solo sessions as well as collaborations that were never released publicly.
A Posthumous Album in Progress
The album, tentatively titled “Reflections from the Quiet Room,” is now in production. It is being overseen by longtime collaborators, including producer Billy Sherwood and former Asia bandmate Geoff Downes. Fans can expect a blend of introspective acoustic material, soaring vocal harmonies, and classic Wetton-style instrumentation that bridges the gap between progressive grandeur and intimate songwriting.
“This album feels like John speaking from beyond — it’s haunting, hopeful, and pure,” Sherwood commented.
A Global Tribute in the Making
Plans are underway for a global release in early 2026, with a limited-edition vinyl pressing and accompanying documentary titled “Voice in the Silence”, chronicling the album’s creation and John’s enduring influence on music. A tribute concert featuring guest appearances by members of King Crimson, Asia, UK, and other associated acts is also being organized.
The Fans React
News of the release has sparked an outpouring of emotion across social media. Tributes are pouring in using hashtags like #JohnWettonLivesOn and #ReflectionsAlbum, as longtime fans express gratitude and anticipation for one final message from the legendary voice behind “Heat of the Moment” and “Book of Saturday.”
A Legacy Reaffirmed
John Wetton, who passed away in 2017 after a battle with cancer, left behind a legacy spanning over four decades of genre-defining music. This posthumous release promises not only to honor his legacy but to deepen it — giving fans and the music world one more chance to hear the genius that shaped progressive rock history.
