Crystal Palace have been handed a “huge” boost in new contract talks after their FA Cup win and subsequent Europa League qualification.
That is according to former Man United and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the Eagles will hold sit-down talks with a number of key players in the near future.
Chairman Steve Parish is keen to build upon their success and back Oliver Glasner in the transfer market, which includes holding on to his best players.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Palace will hold contract talks with Glasner as Parish confirmed the boss would stay despite interest from Tottenham.
Meanwhile, the future of Jean-Philippe Mateta has been subject to plenty of speculation and the Eagles are determined for him to commit his future to the club.
However, Marc Guehi’s future remains up in the air after Football Insider revealed Palace’s FA Cup win will make little difference as he enters the final year of his deal.
Crystal Palace planning summer contract talks after Glasner latest
Brown told Football Insider on 1 May that Palace feel they can keep their star players alongside Glasner if the boss commits his future to Selhurst Park.
The former scout, who has a wealth in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that the promise of Europa League football will give Palace a new boost in talks.
“Winning the FA Cup is going to be huge for Crystal Palace,” he told Football Insider.
“Not only lifting the trophy but also getting into Europe, because they want to build on this.
“It works in two ways, though, because their status goes up and it attracts more suitors.
“Quite a few of these players will have to look at it and ask themselves, where are they going to go that’s better than Crystal Palace at the moment?
“It’s done Palace a favour because the players have seen what they can achieve as part of this team.
“They want the manager to sign a new deal, he’s been the catalyst for all of this and has done a fantastic job since he arrived, so they want to ensure he keeps doing that.
“We’ve spoken before about the likes of Mateta and Guehi and whether they could sign new deals, and a few other players too.
“Being in Europe gives them a better chance of convincing these players to stay.
“Palace want to add to their squad and improve, but the first thing is to keep their best players.
“They’ll sit down with them at the end of the season, and they’ll do everything in their power that they intend to keep this group together.
“If you can do that with one or two, it shows the others that this is just the start of the journey.“

Joe Willock update emerges as Oliver Glasner eyes signings
On top of their ambitions to keep their best players at Selhurst Park, Palace have also set their sights on improving their squad ahead of their first European campaign.
Brown told Football Insider on 13 May that Palace want to sign Newcastle star Joe Willock as part of their plans to back Glasner with new additions.
Willock, meanwhile, is believed to be open to a move away from the North East as he is unlikely to cement his place in the starting XI.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Newcastle plan to keep Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton as their starting midfield trio under Eddie Howe.
