In a proud moment for heavy metal fans around the world, legendary German rock band Accept has been announced as one of the honorees in the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025. The band’s star will be unveiled in a special ceremony scheduled for November 8, 2025, marking the first time a German heavy metal band has received this recognition.
Known for their groundbreaking role in shaping European metal and for anthems like “Balls to the Wall,” “Fast as a Shark,” and “Metal Heart,” Accept’s legacy spans more than four decades, dozens of albums, and an international following that remains fiercely loyal.
Pioneers of Metal Recognition
Accept formed in the late 1970s in Solingen, Germany, and helped define the sound and aesthetic of traditional heavy metal in the 1980s. Their influence can be heard in bands like Metallica, Megadeth, and Pantera. Over the years, they have sold millions of albums and maintained their reputation as a ferocious live act well into the 21st century.
Hollywood Chamber of Commerce spokesperson Mark Delaney praised Accept’s global impact:
“Accept brought heavy metal from the underground to stadiums. Their music bridged continents and generations. This star is a tribute to their innovation, perseverance, and unmatched energy.”
The ceremony will be held outside the Hollywood Wax Museum, where many rock legends have received stars. Accept’s will be placed near those of other heavy metal giants, including Motörhead, Scorpions, and Iron Maiden.
Band Members React
Accept’s longtime guitarist and founding member Wolf Hoffmann responded to the announcement with gratitude:
“To be immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — that’s something we never imagined back in the clubs of Germany. This isn’t just for us — it’s for the fans who kept headbanging with us through every tour, every album, and every reinvention.”
While original vocalist Udo Dirkschneider has not toured with the band in years, he is reportedly invited to attend the event in what many fans hope could be a symbolic reunion moment.
A Big Year for Accept
The honor comes at a significant time for Accept, as they prepare to release their upcoming album “The Last Command” in early 2026. A North American tour is also scheduled to follow, with stops in major cities including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Toronto.
Additionally, a biographical documentary titled “Fast as a Legacy: The Story of Accept” is in development and expected to premiere at the 2026 Berlin Film Festival.
Fans and Metal Community Celebrate
The announcement was met with immediate excitement across the metal community, with hashtags like #AcceptWalkOfFame and #BallsToTheBoulevard trending shortly after the news broke.
“Finally! A true metal band gets its due,” one fan posted on X (formerly Twitter). “This is for every headbanger who ever air-guitared that solo from Princess of the Dawn.”
From German steel to Hollywood stone, Accept’s journey has been loud, relentless, and historic — and now, their name will be forever etched into rock and roll legend.
