Emerging South Carolina wide receiver Nyck Harbor will be back in the Garnet and Black in 2025.
Harbor has signed a new NIL deal with Garnet Trust, the official South Carolina collective announced on Saturday.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Harbor, known for his combination of size and blazing track speed, began to come into his own on the football field under the tutelage of receivers coach Mike Furrey this season with a career-high 26 catches for 376 yards and three touchdowns.
A two-sport standout and viral sensation in track, the Washington, D.C. native and former five-star athlete famously signed with South Carolina over Oregon on National Signing Day in 2024.
Harbor finished fifth at the SEC indoor track & field championships with a 20.87 clocking in the 200 meters and posted a 6.73-second 60 meter dash to place eighth.
He recorded best times during the outdoor season of 10.11 in the 100m dash and 20.20 in the 200, earning second-team All-America honors in both events.
After missing spring ball while participating in track, Harbor worked extra hard in the offseason and throughout the football season to continue to develop as a receiver.
“Just all the hard work I’ve been putting in, it’s starting to show on the field. Everything starting to slow down,” Harbor said after the Gamecocks win over Missouri, a game in which he received a game ball. “I just go out there, just do it for (No.) 16 (LaNorris Sellers), just do it for my teammates, do it for the offense, defense — complimentary football.”
Retention has been a huge focus for the Gamecocks this offseason.
Garnet Trust announced on Christmas Eve that it signed a new deal with SEC Freshman of the Year quarterback LaNorris Sellers after previously inking an agreement with Stewart, the On3 National Freshman of the Year.
“Kudos to our fanbase, kudos to our administration, kudos to the Garnet Trust for all they’ve done to be able to help us and our guys out in so many ways,” Beamer said of South Carolina’s efforts in player retention last year. “This program is about relationships, honesty, and trust and having conversations with guys, and building relationships throughout the season. Guys have expressed to us that they want to be (here).”
“I think retaining our current roster is the most important thing,” added Darren Uscher, South Carolina football’s Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting, during a recent appearance on GC Live.
