The Indiana Pacers have officially signed rookie guard Taelon Peter to a two-way contract, adding fresh depth and long-term potential to their backcourt.
Peter, the 54th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, joins the Pacers after a standout college career that included stints at Tennessee Tech, Arkansas Tech, and Liberty University. At Liberty, he averaged 13.7 points and 4 rebounds per game while leading the nation in true shooting percentage (.724). His efficient scoring and ability to stretch the floor earned him Conference USA Sixth Man of the Year honors.
Under the two-way agreement, Peter will split his time between the Pacers and their G League affiliate, the Noblesville Boom, giving him the chance to develop while still being available for up to 50 NBA games. Indiana is banking on his elite shooting and athleticism to translate at the professional level.
This move comes as the Pacers look to bolster guard depth, particularly with Tyrese Haliburton sidelined for the season due to an Achilles injury. By structuring the deal as a two-year, partially guaranteed two-way contract, the Pacers have signaled confidence in Peter’s long-term upside—a rare commitment for a rookie drafted late in the second round.
If Peter’s G League performance mirrors his college efficiency, he could quickly earn a more permanent role with the Pacers. For now, he represents both a developmental project and a potential surprise contributor in Indiana’s rotation.
