BREAKING: Ole Miss Rebels Rookie Tre Harris Launches “A Hope Rising Foundation” to Transform Lives of Children with Disabilities — Providing Free Healthcare, Basic Needs, and Endless Love to Mississippi’s Most Vulnerable

Oxford, Mississippi — July 6, 2025

In an emotional and heartwarming announcement that’s already being hailed as one of the most powerful gestures in college football history, Ole Miss Rebels rookie wide receiver Tre Harris has officially launched “A Hope Rising Foundation,” a nonprofit initiative dedicated to uplifting and empowering children with disabilities across the state of Mississippi.

While most freshmen are focused on adapting to playbooks and game speed, Tre Harris is already changing lives far beyond the field. At just 19, the gifted athlete is using his platform for something greater — hope, healing, and humanity.

> “This isn’t about football,” Harris said during a tear-filled press conference. “It’s about being the kind of man my mama raised me to be — someone who sees pain and does something about it. These kids deserve to feel loved, seen, and whole.”

A Vision Born From Personal Pain

Harris revealed that the inspiration behind the foundation stems from his late younger sister, Jordyn, who was born with cerebral palsy and passed away when he was just 12.

> “She couldn’t walk, but she was the strongest person I ever knew. I promised her I’d fight for other kids like her.”

That promise has now bloomed into A Hope Rising Foundation, which will focus on:

Free, comprehensive healthcare for children with physical and developmental disabilities

Monthly distributions of food, hygiene products, clothing, and school supplies

Access to adaptive sports programs, mentorship opportunities, and therapeutic services

Parent support networks and advocacy for inclusive education policy reforms

Love in Action: Mississippi First, Then the Nation

The foundation will initially serve children and families across rural Mississippi, with a special focus on underserved counties where healthcare access and disability services are critically limited.

Harris has already pledged his full NIL earnings—an estimated $750,000 over the next two years—to seed the foundation and has secured partnerships with Baptist Memorial Hospital, Ole Miss Medical Center, and Feeding America.

Community, Coaches, and Campus React

Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin, visibly emotional, praised Harris as “one of the most remarkable young men” he’s ever coached.

> “Football talent gets you noticed. Compassion like Tre’s? That changes the world.”

University Chancellor Glenn Boyce added,

> “Tre is redefining what it means to be a student-athlete. He’s not waiting to be great—he already is.”

Fans across the South are calling Harris “an angel in cleats,” with #HopeRisingFoundation trending across social media just minutes after the announcement.

NFL Stars Show Support

Several NFL players including Michael Thomas, Jarvis Landry, and Derrick Henry have already reached out to support the initiative, with rumors of a charity flag football game brewing for the fall to raise further awareness.

Tre Harris: A Rising Star On and Off the Field

As the 2025 season approaches, Harris is expected to play a major role in the Rebels’ high-powered offense. But now, even before catching his first collegiate touchdown, he’s already etched his name into the heart of Mississippi.

> “I want to be remembered not for stats,” Harris said, “but for the smiles I helped create.”
