Oregon Ducks Eye New Quarterback Recruits After Jared Curtis Commits to Georgia Bulldogs

The Oregon Ducks are reevaluating their quarterback recruiting strategy following the recent commitment of elite signal-caller Jared Curtis to the Georgia Bulldogs. Curtis, a highly touted prospect out of Nashville, Tennessee, was a top target for multiple powerhouse programs, including Oregon, but ultimately chose Georgia for its championship pedigree, offensive scheme, and track record of developing NFL-caliber talent under head coach Kirby Smart.

The Ducks had been in close pursuit of Curtis, hoping to secure their quarterback of the future to complement their fast-paced offensive system under head coach Dan Lanning. His decision to head east leaves Oregon with a gap to fill at the most critical position in their 2026 class.

Now, Oregon’s staff is quickly shifting focus to other talented QBs still on the board. Among the names rising in their sights are California standout Malik Jefferson, Arizona dual-threat playmaker Treyson Tyler, and Midwest star Connor Bailey. Each offers a different skill set but fits the Ducks’ versatile offensive approach.

Lanning and his recruiting team have built strong relationships across the country, and despite the Curtis setback, Oregon remains confident in their ability to land a high-level quarterback. With the Pac-12 evolving and playoff stakes growing, locking in the right leader under center remains a top priority in Eugene.

While missing out on Curtis stings, Oregon has proven in recent years that it can rebound quickly in recruiting battles—and now, all eyes are on who will rise as their next quarterback target.
