PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men’s basketball announced today (June 4) that Peteris Pinnis (Saspils, Latvia) has signed an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence in 2025-26.
Pinnis, a 7-1, 235-pound forward, will be a freshman in 2025-26. He played with VEF Riga in the Basketball Champions League in 2024-25. He averaged 7.2 points and 5.5 rebounds, including four double-doubles for VEF Riga. Pinnis recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds against LU on February 8, 2025. He competed in the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket Division B for the Latvian national team, where he averaged 9.9 points and 10.3 rebounds. In 2023, he played for the Latvian National Team in the U20 European Championship Division B and averaged 11.4 points and 6.9 rebounds. He also competed in the FIBA U18 European Championship Division B in 2022 and averaged 8.1 points and 6.4 rebounds.
