Crystal Palace are reportedly in the race to sign highly-touted Valencia defender Christhian Mosquera this summer, per Caught Offside.
The Eagles are looking to further strengthen their squad in the transfer window, off the back of their memorable FA Cup triumph over Manchester City last season. Boss Oliver Glasner has ingrained himself in the club’s history by delivering their first ever piece of major silverware, and the Austrian tactician is eager to continue raising the level.
Palace Eyeing Move for Mosquera
According to the report from Caught Offside, Crystal Palace are among the teams interested in landing Mosquera this summer, alongside Premier League outfits Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham. It is believed the player would prefer a move to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, but a move to the English top-flight has not been ruled out.
Valencia have set an asking price of €30 million (£25 million) for the 20-year-old, who made 41 appearances last term. At just 20 years of age, Mosquera has already amassed 90 senior appearances since being promoted from the club’s youth set-up. He has also earned his first cap for the Spain U23s, while having made several appearances for the U21s and U19s prior.

Capable of becoming “one of the best CBs in Europe”, Mosquera has been dubbed “incredible” for his defensive abilities, and has been considered among the best ‘1v1’ defenders in La Liga.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace ace Marc Guehi is attracting interest for a transfer this summer, with the likes of Newcastle and Chelsea linked with landing the 24-year-old. In the event that he does depart from Selhurst Park, the Eagles will likely up the ante in their search for defensive reinforcements.
