Concord, NC – In a powerful display of compassion and leadership off the track, NASCAR Cup Series driver and RFK Racing co-owner Brad Keselowski has announced a $11 million donation to combat homelessness across North Carolina.
The funding will be distributed through a new nonprofit initiative called “Driven to Shelter,” which will provide transitional housing, job training, and mental health support for thousands of individuals and families across the state.
“Racing has given me a platform — and with that comes the responsibility to help people who are struggling,” Keselowski said at a press conference held at RFK Racing headquarters. “North Carolina is home to me, and I want to see every community here thrive, starting with those most in need.”
The donation will be used to:
- Build and renovate six transitional housing facilities across Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, and smaller rural towns
- Fund mobile outreach units to bring healthcare and support directly to encampments
- Launch a veterans-first housing program, reflecting Keselowski’s long-time advocacy for U.S. military members
NASCAR Community Reacts
Fellow drivers, teams, and fans across the NASCAR community have praised Keselowski’s commitment. RFK Racing teammate Chris Buescher called it “a game-changing move that shows Brad is as bold off the track as he is behind the wheel.”
Team Penske and Hendrick Motorsports also released supportive statements, applauding Keselowski’s leadership.
Legacy of Giving
While Keselowski is known for his competitive edge in NASCAR, he has also quietly funded a number of charitable causes through the Brad Keselowski’s Checkered Flag Foundation, which supports military veterans, first responders, and now — through “Driven to Shelter” — the unhoused.
“This is just the beginning,” Keselowski added. “My goal is to inspire others in the racing world to step up. We can win races — and we can win the fight against homelessness.”
