Düsseldorf, Germany — In a powerful act of generosity, German heavy metal legends Accept have announced a staggering €30 million (approximately $33 million USD) donation to support homeless populations across Germany.
The donation, unveiled in a press conference held in the band’s hometown of Solingen, will be distributed through a newly formed charitable foundation called Metal Heart Relief, named after one of Accept’s most iconic albums.
“We’ve toured the world, seen the extremes of wealth and poverty,” said guitarist Wolf Hoffmann. “But we always come back to Germany — it’s home. And we want to make it better for those struggling to find a home of their own.”
The band’s donation will fund shelters, mobile outreach clinics, mental health services, and job training programs in major cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, and Cologne. The initiative is set to launch in collaboration with several local NGOs and government agencies.
Frontman Mark Tornillo added, “Heavy metal is about rebellion, yes — but also about community and solidarity. No one should freeze on the streets in one of the world’s wealthiest countries.”
The announcement has already drawn praise from political leaders, social workers, and fellow musicians across Europe. Accept plans to raise further funds with a 2025 benefit tour dubbed the Restless and Charitable tour, with all proceeds directed toward the cause.
Fans around the world are applauding the band’s move, flooding social media with messages of support and using hashtags like #MetalForHumanity and #AcceptsActOfKindness.
This unprecedented act marks one of the largest philanthropic donations ever made by a rock band in Germany, setting a new benchmark for how music and charity can come together to create real-world impact.
