Arizona Diamondbacks ace pitcher Zac Gallen has announced a significant donation of $1 million from his 2025 salary to support homelessness relief efforts across Arizona.
The 29-year-old All-Star, known for his community involvement through the ZG23 Charitable Fund, emphasized the importance of addressing homelessness in the state.(Dairy Foods)
“Homelessness is a pressing issue that affects many in our community,” Gallen stated. “I feel a responsibility to use my platform and resources to make a positive impact.”
The donation will be distributed among several organizations, including St. Mary’s Food Bank, UMOM New Day Centers, and Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS). These funds aim to provide shelter, meals, and support services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
Gallen’s previous philanthropic efforts include partnerships to combat childhood hunger, notably providing 2,300 gallons of milk to St. Mary’s Food Bank through his ZG23 Charitable Fund. (Dairy Foods)
Teammates and community leaders have praised Gallen’s commitment to social causes. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo commented, “Zac’s dedication off the field mirrors his excellence on it. He’s setting an example for all of us.”
